SIGCOMM 2011 Education workshop

The programme is composed of four sessions. The first session will be devoted to paper presentations, the second and third will mix presentations and work and the final one will be devoted to discussion about curriculum and a wrap up.

Session 1 [9.00 - 10.30] : Position papers

Session 2 [11.00 - 12.30] : What are the networking principles ? (Chair : David Wetherall)

This session will start with two short presentations and then will focus on discussions on what are the key networking principles that need to be taught to students.

The position paper Principles of Communications - A Course for Final Year UK Computer Science Undergraduates will also serve as input for this session.

Session 3 [14.00 - 15.30] : How to integrate experiments and simulations in a networking course ? (Chair : Olivier Bonaventure)

This session will start with three short presentations and then will focus on discussions on the best approaches to integrate experiments and simulations in a networking course.

Session 4 [ 16.00 - 18.00]: The place of networking in curriculums (Chair : Jim Kurose)

The objective of this session is to report on the current work on designing reference curriculums within ACM and IEEE and provide input from the SIGCOMM community to these recommendations.
